Professional Biography Stephen P. Calardo, J.D. is the Founder and President of Calardo Mediation Service. He is a leading practitioner of mediation who has successfully mediated hundreds of disputes, including environmental disputes. His years of experience as a mediator, facilitator, arbitrator, and successful trial attorney enable him to assist parties in disputes to focus on common sense pathways to settlement. He also has worked as a facilitator and consensus builder working with multiple stakeholder groups in building consensus on goals and developing action plans. He has worked with business, government, and citizen groups to bring about environmental cleanup, allocate costs, and develop dispute resolution programs. He is the creator and author of the innovative and award-winning Cincinnati Bar Association Pre-Suit Mediation Program. Prior to becoming a full-time ADR specialist, he  served a the lead trial attorney in many environmental cases involving CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, and and other environmental statutes. Many of these cases involved sites with numerous potentially responsible parties, government agencies, citizen groups, and other parties. He has served as class counsel in several class actions. He has been appointed Claims Administrator in a class action involving mold remediation.
