Professional Biography Ruth Nicholson (formerly Siguenza) is an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF), Assessor, and trained mediator. She offers facilitation, graphic facilitation, training and mediation services based on 20 years of experience in public policy and natural resources management. She comes to her facilitation work as a neutral party, with extensive facilitation skills and a broad knowledge of natural resource and scientific issues, environmental regulatory processes, and management approaches. Her philosophy is that the process must be clear to all the participants, information is shared, and dialogue and decision making are open. She works to ensure that people feel heard, informational materials are accurate, and meetings are focused and productive. Ruth’s expertise is in the chartering and facilitation of advisory groups. Her work with federal, state, county, municipal, and tribal governments includes facilitation in the areas of land and resource management, nuclear and hazardous waste cleanup, base closure and reuse, county mineral lands planning, and rural wastewater services. She has also provided mediation services in the areas of land use and risk assessment. Ruth’s past technical staff experience includes work in public and corporate land management; federal environmental assessment and regulation; public participation; and community and economic development.
