Professional Biography I have been working in the environmental field for over 20 years. During that time, I have been exposed to numerous issues related to environmental regulatory/compliance, natural resource management, and sustainability. This background means that I am highly versatile and can add insight to a variety of different projects. Although I maintain a neutral position on meeting outcomes, I believe that having a strong substantive foundation in the topics being discussed enables me to ask informative questions and make relevant connections that promote dialogue.I believe that facilitation is a means to an end. As such, the processes I design should support bigger picture goals and objectives - my processes help open doors, not make people feel boxed in.Much of my career has been spent supporting tribal environmental programs. As such, I am well informed about tribal environmental issues and cultural concerns. In terms of style, I have been described by one client as "an iron fist wrapped in a soft white glove." I am able to enforce process parameters when needed but in a way that is gentle and well-received. Clients enjoy working with me and I have been told that when I'm in the room, "it makes [them] feel like everything is going to be ok." I also believe that humor can help ease tensions and make processes - even difficult ones - easier for everyone.
