Professional Biography Since Fall 2006, I have been Graduate faculty at the University of Maryland University College. My wife and I teach an on-line course of Land Use Management. Our students are across the world, and environmental conflict resolution has a prominent place.Major contribution to the literature:"Negotiated Development: A Breakthrough in Environmental Controversies," Conservation Foundation, Washington, DC 1977.More than 20 years of providing training in conflict resolution at conferences for such groups as Urban Land Institute, American Law Institute-American Bar Association, Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and to colleges as a Fellow of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. Detailed and responsible work as a planner in 11 of the 12 US regions listed and more than 20 foreign countries through USAID, other international agencies and as direct hire by the countries.Note: In re Pacific Island country experience beyond the citation on the list; For more than a 15 year period commencing in 1985, I was the lead consultant on resettlement to the Bikini people of the Marshall Islands. The U.S. is committed to restoring their atoll, used for atomic testing,to habitation. Our team was first engaged by a committee of scientists appointed by Congress to prepare a resettlement plan and cost estimate for the atoll.
