Position or Title Attorney/Mediator/Facilitator

Professional Biography I work as a third party neutral, focusing on meetings and conflicts that involve environmental and natural resource issues.  In all cases, I have assisted the meeting or group sponsors, or the participants, in assessing their needs and developing a process to support public input, participant education and decision-making.    My experience includes conflicts over contamination, allocation of natural resources, and collaborative development of scientific studies and water policy.  I also mediate 2 and 3-party conflicts and have facilitated break-out groups in collaborative and educational processes.   My substantive environmental law experience helps me understand the legal and regulatory context in which the issues arise and be familiar with the methods and techniques used to understand public health and safety matters. My work with The University of Texas, School of Law, Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution, has made me very familiar with the unique issues faced by governmental entities and stakeholders participating in dispute resolution processes. I currently teach a course on multiparty negotiation related to environmental and energy cases at The University of Texas, School of Law.  My strengths include strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to interface with technical experts, and knowledge and experience related to multiparty negotiation.
