Professional Biography My deepest professional commitment is to assisting public agencies, public interest groups and communities to improve their capacity to effectively engage one another on highly complex and often vexing public policy issues or conflicts. Since 1995  I have had extensive experience in facilitating both short- and long-term complex natural resources public policy dialogues and planning processes.These dialogues have typically included conflict assessments, consensus building, integration of complex technical information, and periodic mediation of specific policy conflicts. In addition, I have designed and facilitated numerous strategic planning and change processes for public resource agencies and non-profit environmental organizations alike. I also have specialized in designing and facilitating complex scientific and technical workshops on a wide range of natural resource issues, ranging from native oyster restoration to climate change adaptation.My introduction into environmental negotiation occurred in the mid-1990's,  when I worked on the CALFED Bay-Delta Program, a pioneering collaborative whose purpose was to resolve the major environmental conflicts in the State's vulnerable Delta region. I served on the Program's statewide Advisory Council, by appointment of Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt and Governor Pete Wilson, before going to work for the Program, under the leadership of the Executive Director,  who is now  Secretary of Resources for the State of Califor
