Professional Biography I design and facilitate problem-solving and decision-making processes using the interest-based approach. For organization development I use strength-based inquiry.  Issues range from multi-stakeholder environmental issues and strategic planning sessions to labor & management contract negotiations. I have worked all over California, in rural and urban venues; with water districts, state agencies, community based organizations and the Univ of California. In collaboration with client I  focus on desired outcomes and work back from there. In my facilitation I balance flexibility, responsiveness to participant concerns and open discussion with maintaining focus and keeping the process moving. I encourage groups to use consensus decision-making whenever possible because I believe it best serves the interests of the individual and the group. I encourage participants to learn and practice facilitative leadership skills, and to provide direct and honest feedback to me. At UC I work with students, staff and faculty in organizational development and also provide mediation services.
