Professional Biography I started my career as a scientist (M.S. Microbiology) and consider the fact that my logic reverts back to the scientific method as one of my greatest strengths.  In addition to advanced technical degrees, I am an experienced  facilitator and Rule 31 certified mediator, and over the past 25 years have worked to resolve environmental conflicts for numerous government and private sector clients.  I recognized early in my technical career that even the best decisions can be undermined if stakeholder ownership is not solid. Since then I have steered my career away from the purely technical to one more focused on people – how they assimilate information, make decisions, and interact with others.  I have employed this logic in my work as a consensus builder and/or facilitator for the USACE, USAF, and private sector clients interacting  with both state and federal regulatory agencies. I also continue a technical practice focused on total ecosystems management, sustainability, and portfolio risk management analysis.  My goal is to find workable solutions through facilitation so that differing views and interests are vetted appropriately, systematically, and with respect for the environment.
