Professional Biography Ms. Firehock has served as a neutral for multi-party negotiations for the past 11 years and has more than 25 years of experience in environmental planning. She is currently the principal of Fireside Collaboratives, a small woman-owned company that specializes in neutral multi-stakeholder negotiation and mediation concerning land use issues. For the past 11 years she has been a graduate school lecturer at the University of Virginia (UVA) in environmental planning, watershed management and landscape design. She directs an environmental planning nonprofit organization, the Green Infrastructure Center where she convenes multi-stakeholder groups to devise comprehensive environmental plans. FOr 7 years she was as a Senior Associate at UVA Institute for Environmental Negotiation.  She has facilitated groups from the national to the local level.  She served for several years as the national outreach coordinator for the USDA Forest Service’s Roundtable on Sustainable Forests to develop measures for indicators of forest health. Examples of her local work include facilitating the watershed planning process for Fairfax County Virginia for 8 watersheds. She is currently facilitating a multi-stakeholder process to develop goals for restorting the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee. She also designed and implemented a training course in consensus building across the country and authored books on collaboration and consensus building and community collaboration.
