Professional Biography Jessica Western (formerly Clement) is the Principal of Big Goose Creek Resolutions in Wyoming, a consultancy that provides conflict resolution services related to natural resource issues, collaboration leadership training and social science expertise. Dr. Western was Director of the Collaborative Program in Natural Resources, a year-long leadership training program in collaborative problem solving skills for natural resource professionals.  She has designed, facilitated and managed collaborative and conflict resolution processes in multiple states.  Her past cases include the largest wind development project in the country, mule deer management and habitat plans, forest collaboratives, several gubernatorial Task Forces, multi-state collaborative efforts for Western Governors Association, Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Projects and prairie dog, sage grouse and energy development issues on a National Grassland.  She has in-depth experience in assessing situations and stakeholders, designing complex, landscape scale consensus-building processes regarding contentious issues and facilitating those processes to reach agreement.  She has lead projects with legislators, industry, federal agencies, state agencies and non-governmental organizations.  She has a doctorate in natural resource policy, a master’s in human dimensions in natural resources and a bachelor’s degree in natural resource management and has taught graduate classes and training programs in collaborative problem solving and natural resource policy.
