Professional Biography Janet Martinez obtained her B.S. in Microbiology from Washington State University, J.D. from Golden Gate University, M.P.A. from Harvard and is completing her doctoral studies at MIT in public policy and international environmental management.Janet Martinez is currently a Senior Associate at the Consensus Building Institute, a not-for-profit organization that provides mediation and dispute system design services to public and private clients worldwide. Most recently, Ms. Martinez organized and assisted at the Parallel Informal Policy Dialogue on Climate Change before the COP IV Meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is an informal dialogue for senior diplomats and nongovernmental organization representatives to assist them in finding common ground regarding implementation of the Climate Change Convention. Ms. Martinez's past work includes The Policy Dialogue on Trade and Environment, an informal dialogue of senior international trade and environmental policy leaders parallel to the World Trade Organization Committee on Trade and the Environment, Council on Foundations facilitation training program for family foundations, Grantmakers in Health facilitation training program, and the Parallel Informal Policy Dialogue on Climate Change before the COP III Meeting in Kyoto. She has also instructed partnering and consensus building training workshops for the New York York City School Construction Authority.Ms. Martinez is a lecturer at the Program on Negotiation at
