Professional Biography My practice, affiliated with the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, encompasses both small local disputes and large scale statewide policy issues.  On complex cases, I frequently work with a partner, Allen Zerkin, who has extensive experience in applying a wide variety of consensus building tools and techniques. I have assumed a lead role in four complex consensus building processes – two statewide on “brownfields” and scrap tire management, one regional on land revitalization, and one on New York City’s medical waste management. Experience derived from a varied career  in environmental and public health coupled with graduate level scientific  and legal training enable me to  understand the complex technical and policy issues raised in most environmental disputes.  Drawing on this background,  I strive to facilitate the  identification of  linkages between issues and  the eventual development of creative  solutions that  strengthen existing resources and communities. My style is strong yet compassionate. A keen sense of humor, strong organizational skills, and a natural ability for system’s  thinking,  help me to create the framework and environment in which new ideas and relationships are nurtured  and grown.
