Professional Biography After a 15 year career in law, centered on the representation of public bodies, I have spent the past 11 years full-time in conflict resolution: graduate school, teaching/training, program development, consultation, and intervention.  I teach and train interpersonal, organizational, and public mediation/negotiation/facilitation skills.  Most of my practical experience has been in organizational and multi-party disputes focusing on designing dispute resolution processes, and facilitating consensual decision-making.  Since 1994 I have been actively involved with The River Group, a consortium of professionals located in the upper Midwest skilled in managing conflict, researching public issues, and facilitating public participation and public policy development.My experience and strength lie in facilitation and consensus building.  While I have worked alone on a number of projects, I believe better products are obtained in complex conflict with teams.  I work well with dispute resolution teams and also have significant experience pulling teams together and leading the dipsute resolution process.  The River Group has been particularly useful in this regard as it is a ready source of professionals with a variety of skills and strengths, and located across a wide geographic area.
