Professional Biography David Fairman is Senior Mediator at the Consensus Building Institute and Associate Director of the MIT-Harvard Public Disputes Program. For 34 years, he has built consensus and enhanced collaboration capacity on complex public and organizational issues in the U.S. and internationally. He has facilitated stakeholder collaboration on multi-use management of the Mississippi River Basin, clean energy policy development at the regional and national levels, urban transit planning, and management of hazardous waste sites. He also designs and teaches negotiation and collaboration courses for public, private and non-profit organizations; and conducts research on dispute resolution institutions and programs.
