Professional Biography As a staff mediator for the Mediation Institute, I have facilitated/mediated complex environmental and public policy disputes  regarding such issues as facility siting,developing consensus recommendations on permit requirements, and developing feasible alternatives to incorporate into an EIR.Participants have included all levels of government agencies, local municpal representatives, varied environmental interests, neighborhood and business interests.Typically, participants meet once or twice a month for 6 months to over 2 years. I usually note the proceedings which are accepted by consensus and, therefore, become a record of the parties' accomplishments. As an attorney, I make court appearances and do research. Prior to law school, I served as Education Coordinator and docent at the Los Angeles Zoo where I developed and taught a portion of a training course for docents accredited by UCLA Extension.  As a behavioral researcher, I spent 10 years observing California condors, gorillas and other Primates. I have served as a lecturer on various aspects of Primate life for UCLA extension classes. I was also a monitor of the endangered least tern colony on Ormond Beach, Ca. for U.S. Fish & Wildlife.
