Professional Biography After more than 3 decades of steady work in public policy -- the last 33 as a mediator, facilitator, and professional coach -- I know there is aliveness and opportunity in every conflict. Citizens, government(s), interest groups, and others with a stake in public decisions discover what they can do, and who they can be, together. My strengths are: present listener -- I practice and hone open questions and a deep listening stance. I am also a situation assessment pro with clarity regarding my code of ethics/conduct and facilitative role. I am an experienced project manager, able to put teams together quickly. I greatly respect people's capacity to listen, co-learn, and discern what's important to one another. I help participants create an environment with a working trust that may (or in some cases may not) build on itself as a sort of micro-culture that holds the participants while they discover what, if anything, they can do better together. I stay open to possibilities no matter how contentious or stuck the situation may seem.
